Looks well made and all that, but considering I paid a similar price for my 644, which was not in bad shape, ahm... I don't know :107:

Yep. A little expensive. He might have that much in it, but it isn't worth it. He needs to take into account how much pleasure it gave him along the way.

Considering the rarity of small loaders and the cost of them around these parts for anything in good shape with a 3pt on it as well . "Asking" price is $3500 US $$$ A used new gen. sub-compact tractor with loader worth buying start about $16000 in these parts . So a lot depends on your needs , budget and where you live / how far willing to travel and how much you can do yourself (building / repair ).

Foot control is a must with a loader , but hand control has it advantages to . That why I have both on Frankie .

Bob is right, when you factor in the time and skill needed to build a good loader it changes everything. I always knew that anything I fix or restore won't bring in the money equivalent to what went in. It's hard to accept that, especially when money is tight. Look at the prices asked for big restored tractors. I'm on the Massey Harris collectors group on facebook and you see beautifully restored big tractors. Imagine the work and parts that went in. People do it for the love of doing it. I too enjoyed rebuilding the k321, and I could never sell it for what I put in, I'm sure. But I also want to keep it for as long as I can.

Looks like a very nice 446/loader. At the end of the day, it's still a 446 frame that could twist if over loaded. If you move just some light load it's all good. But if you like to overdo it, which I usually do it could be a disaster. My 644 lbh had the frame cracked on both sides and the PO added gussets on both sides of the tower. I spent two days making reinforcement plates for the frame and welded them in the overhead position. Not a pleasant thing to do and needless to say you're going to get a few battle scars. I just felt knowing how I like to overdo moving heavy loads it was worth the time.

As far as the cost like you say you're never going to recoup money spent. I know muscle cars and a Harley I spent a lot of money on and never recouped it. For my 644lbh I paid a little less than this owner is asking for a 446/loader. For my 646 I paid a lot less and it had the rototiller. I know there are not a lot out there but personally I would sooner purchase a 600 series tractor.

Keep the Peace
