4016 deck lift repair

The midlift cylinder mount bracket had been repaired by a previous owner. When putting the tractor in for winter storage the bracket was found riped off again.
Having a car hoist in the shop made the repair many many times easier.
The first step was grinding the old weld off of the frame.
Then clamping the bracket back into place. It did not take long to weld the bracket to the frame.
Start to finish the repair took about 1-1/2 hours.

Matt,
That's the bracket that we always install, heavier duty and a quick bolt-in repair. I've always felt the the early design was a weak point and by reinstalling it a future failure was possible.

Thanks for the photos @MattA and your input Bob @myerslawnandgarden. I had not thought about adding a plate to the bottom web of the frame. The way I did the repair will not withstand forces that a blade or snowthrower would apply.

Hoists are such a great thing. Just a thought, watch out for the oily grass when welding. I found out once. And got lucky and put the fire out.
