Harry, The swing arm cylinders are probably full of sludge and should be opened for inspection.

Removal of the swing cylinder looked a bit daunting. It required removing all of the hoses, pulling the swing gear, removing the swing cylinder mounting brackets, and removing the boom. The boom piping on this unit was crushed and hoses were end of life making part of this tear down redundant.

I was also able to source the OEM Davis parts from a local Case dealer and replaced boom bushings, pins, and rubber swing stop pads.
