You can get 2 sets . One for the house (food jars) and one for the shop (everything else that

won't open )

That is a good deal on those strap wrenches!
My favourite complaint about fresh jars of pickles is that the

loves to put them in the fridge before they have been opened for the first time...
Almost always seem to be running hot water from the kitchen tap over the lids to loosen them up...

I had tried the hot water trick. And lightly tapped the cover, but no go. Hopefully get those tools today and try them after the snow clearing job.

Well. I can’t believe it. But it worked. Bought the strap/oil filter wrenches and was gunna try them out on the pickle bottle. Got

to come watch for entertainment.
So she was looking up on you tube how to open bottle of what ever. First thing to use was Saran Wrap on top or top and bottom. Give better grip. Well my hands were not slipping. Next one. Use spoon to get under the cap, pry it up, to release the vacuum. Ya right. Had to put finger on jar and pry cap up while putting pressure on your finger.
So

tried it. But just put spoon under cap and twisted spoon. Didn’t pry on finger. All of a sudden snap.

put spoon down, and tried opening bottle.

opened bottle with no effort at all. Amazing.
There now a bottle opening Ramble.
Noel.

You can buy jar openers that mount under the counter. Basically it holds the lid and you use two hands to open the jar.

Sometimes I have to grab the channel lock pliers to get a hard release cap off. I like the strap wrench idea though, thanks David.

We have carpull tunnel in both wrists from wrenching all my life . There were time when both the wife and I useing both hand each could not open some of our canning jars . One day saw strap wrench oil filter tools on sale and it dawned on me to try them for that . Tadda it worked . So now we keep a kleen set in the house .
I too use C L pliers for the child/old guy proof caps , but found I sometime need the rubber strap wrench for the container it self .

I kept the strap wrenches I bought. Cost more in gas to return them. Still in the package. But left them in the house, just in case.
Even shows on the package to use for opening jar caps.
