I always wounder why the engineers put smoke in the wires if it was bad to let it out .

Yeah, I remember My Dad telling me as a kid that "once you let the smoke out, you can't put it back in". Boy was he right lol.

And you have to be careful when back dragging with a loader and bucket. If you have your bucket cylinders out all the way and your being a bit aggressive pulling dirt, you can bend your bucket cylinders when extended out. Not much rod left in the bore at that point.

Oh yeah, each problem fixed right away and continued working. It's good that I happen to have on hand connectors, wires, crimper. Told my wife last night "see how that professional crimper I got in Toronto for $10 just paid for itself?" Can't think of another reason for the smoke but a wire insulation gap somewhere and touching the frame. How it got there, not sure. Was back to normal with new wires.

As for the front axle pin, easily fixed with a new bolt. Cleaned up, lubed, and back to work.

Good ramble! I think all cylinders were just partway out and I didn't really drag hard, but yeah, I should pay attention to that.

But I hit a pretty big snag regarding the building permit, I visited the permit office yesterday. So, time to regroup, lick wounds, and see what can be done.

When it comes to operating equipment there is not much better than seat time to get it down.
As the bucket reacts to what the wheels do, it is best to try to work your way in from the most smooth and level spots. Go slow,. Take your time and know that some days you just have to finish up with a shovel and a rake.
I don't know if bending cylinders on the 600's is a issue or not. My brother in law has had trouble with his 310 Deere's, they have the single center bucket cylinder, and they bend and break so easy you can't do anything with the bucket curled down.
Back dragging with the bucket almost flat will help tune things up.
You will have it down about the time you are done and be ready for next time.
