same basic idea as the bead breaker built into the Harbor Freight tire changer.
I have one and it does work, but I had to practically rebuild the actual pushing arm, as it folded up on me under heavy pressure.
And in my case, since space is at such a premium, I made a base for mine out of 8"x2" C channel, and I only bolt it together for use. When not in use I store the disassembled parts up in the ceiling between the floor joists above the shop.
