Just wondering if the attachments for a 444 are year specific? There is a 444 with not attachments listed on kijiji for 2500 that looks nice but could this be setup for a tiller etc and would it be next to impossible to find a blower deck tiller for this tractor.

The short answer is that most attachments you will find for sale in Ontario will fit that 444. I have had a 220, several 224, a 444, a 226, and a 446 and most attachments I had fit all of the tractors. For best fit we will post here an attachment matching chart shortly.

If you want a tiller remember you will also need a 3pt or sleeve hitch and a rear hydraulic pto on the tractor to run it .
no more mow it's time to blow

Until you really see what shape the tractor is in, you have no idea if the price is good. I got a 224 on a trade, and the guy who gave it to me said this tractor was being restored by an older gentleman and it only needed a carb adjustment. There were signs of restoration, such as fresh paint, and some new parts (clutch), but when I started to look at it carefully it was a disaster. The paint was over older paint, done with a brush, the engine was in bad shape needing rebuild, which I have done, and the carb was new but the cheapest you could find. Fortunately I did not pay a "restored tractor" price for it. A properly restored tractor will cost more because someone put a lot of skilled hours and potentially good parts in it. Then again, it should last another 15 years easy. But those tractors are rare, and I would only do that if I knew the guy who restored it.
I should add, that if you hang out for a bit in this forum you start to see real examples of what our members have done in terms of fixing, restoring, etc. Then you know better what to expect when something shows up on the marketplace. This way it's a lot more transparent and safer to not sink money into a project, when you don't expect it to be a project. Just my 2c

Yep, I do understand. That,s the kind of tractor I was hoping to find,one that,s been done properly. I also know it will not be cheap. I have never minded spending good money on good work.
