It would likely beat walking...

I spent far too many hours as a kid mowing several acres a weekend with a Bolens Lawn Keeper, and that tiny 28" deck...
I guess it kept me out of my folks hair for the time... But, I didn't have to walk (apart from running out of gas, and the frequent breakdowns).
