Fuel prices.

So, I did a little , based on the milage I get on my truck (2018 F350)and current price, it would cost me $26.64 to go 100 miles with 87octane (E10) It would cost $23.80 with 88 octane (E15). If I could do 3mpg better with 91octane it would cost $26.06.

I have never ran premium in this truck, so I guess I would have to put to the test.

I never did any calculation but the manual for my Honda Ridgeline truckette recommends premium gas when you towing any significant weight. The max towing weight for this vehicle is 5000 lbs, which is plenty enough for me. I did use premium fuel when towing, and it seems less sluggish.

If you guys are going to do test regular against premium , also try regular with a can of Seafoam and compare all 3 including the cost of the Seafoam .

No change in gas prices today. But Diesel and furnace oil down 2.8 cents a litre.

Mid size trucks and suv's have about 20 gallon / 80 litre tank . Based on last weeks prices .
Reg. $1.70 x 80 = $136
Prem. $1.95 x 80 =$156
Reg $1.70 X 80 = $136 + $14 for seafoam = $150

Your premium is quite a bit more than regular in your area Dave. Our premium is about 8 cents higher than regular. Yours is 25 cents higher.

And I guaranty it is no 17 cents better than your premium. It is things like that and the difference of 25 cents a litre cheaper with in 45 min drive of here that make you question the intergirty of the system .

Our premium here is $0.70 per gallon more than regular. That difference makes it look like alot but the math shows it only takes 3mpg to save a little. The question is will it gain 3mpg?
