Side walk blower.

Post by propane1 »

City sidewalk blower was having his troubles this morning. Had to back out, could not get thru. I’d say big tractor with rear blower will be coming.

February 23, 2015 a call from an egg grading machine builder was received at 7:30 pm. The request was, "How soon can you be in Summerside PEI?" Without missing a beat, "As soon as I can get a flight out of Toronto so probably tomorrow evening." Knowing the electronic issues the machine might have, and the :snail: :snail: transit time of parts coming out of Michigan, the repair was going to take several days with down time in between. I am thinking vacation time in PEI.

I turn to my wife and ask, "Do you want to go to PEI tomorrow, we can make a week out of it, drive to Moncton NB and see your relatives." Her response was :107: "NOBODY GOES TO PEI IN THE WINTER TIME." and then added "I can't pack and be ready in a day."

February 24, A PO was issued at 8 am, a plane ticket purchased for 11:30 am Toronto to Charlottetown PEI, work clothes and tools packed for a 9:30 am shuttle pick up. And my wife said she needed a day to pack?

There was a bit of snow piled up roadside between Charlottetown and Summerside.

Finding my way into the hotel wasn't too difficult. Just follow the correct path. The other was a path leading to the roof of the restaurant. That one was how the snow-thrower was taken to the roof for snow clearing.

Exiting the hotel was a bit more difficult.

And as anticipated, I did get the weekend off for a visit to Moncton NB.

Summerside shut down for the winter; there were 5 guests staying in the hotel and we all had supper together. Two women there on tax training were asked," So what have you seen while on the island?" Their reply, "Snow, Snow, and more Snow.

I saw a community where everyone knows each other, and had a warm and gentle attitude, even in the middle of winter.

My wife missed an awesome opportunity to see PEI at it's best.

Great story Spike188. Hehe. Ya that was quite a winter. And didn’t stop until May. This could be another one of those winters. Jumpins, that winter we had 6 to 7 feet of snow, every where, not including the banks.

I only remember a winter like that here and that was back in 1978 I think . There was a point where specially equipped heavy equipment was brought in to knock the backs down in places as they were afraid of people being able to touch the hydro wires . You could not see the homes for the snow banks except where the driveways were cut through . Hope I never see one of those ever again .

He was back again at it, this past Monday morning, after last weekend storm. But he got thru this time. Poor machine was just a bouncing. He’s running out of room to throw it.
