Re: Happy New Year
Good morning all . Early to bed and early to rise made the bad year go bye-bye.
As I drinks my morning
and listen to the little
squawking because I have not let her out of her cage yet
.
I mentally setting some goals for this new year .
Goal one is to finish the 446 and get it out of the shop by spring .
Two is to to finish the shop set up and reorganizing starting with the hoist, move the lathe , mill bench and shelving before spring .
Three , open the shop back up to customer repair in the spring , part time to start and see how that goes .
Four is to finish the pond and chicken runs this summer and no new projects .
Five is to try and be patient with myself and walk away when I need to and finish another day .
The last one will be the hardest .
Dave

Re: Happy New Year
Dave the last one should be at the top of the list. Since I've retired, I've gotten better with that one. Now if I could get the wife on board that would make life a lot easier.DavidBarkey wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 8:11 am Good morning all . Re: Happy New Year
I wish you all a healthy and prosperous New Year. I enjoy the camaraderie and sharing on this site which reminds me a lot of the old Case site when I joined it. I always enjoy the ability to learn new things and help others by sharing some knowledge I picked up along the way.
My wife and I had lobster and crab legs with mash potatoes and butternut squash. We ate early to give the food sometime to settle before going to bed. She retired around ten and I stayed up until eleven thirty. We usually don't make it to midnight in recent years.

Re: Happy New Year
I purposely , put it last as I need to observe the last one while attempting all that is above it . Like a good book you are more likely to remember the last page , than the first. But intention was the same .Harry wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 8:41 amDave the last one should be at the top of the list. Since I've retired, I've gotten better with that one. Re: Happy New Year
Good plan Dave! I have a few goals too. Two fairly big ash trees to cut right next to the house. Want to do it myself. We want to build an addition to the very small house that we have. Want to sell the 446 after I freshen it up a bit. Want to pay a little more attention to my health. Want to try and pick up some consulting work. I think there are more, and perhaps it's all more wishful thinking than goals.

Re: Happy New Year
Depending on $$ and other factors come summer I might be interested in the 446.Eugen wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 10:06 am Good plan Dave! I have a few goals too. Re: Happy New Year
Happy New Year to all!
I got to sit up and watch my Georgia bulldogs manhandle the poor misguided young men from Michigan!
My heart went out to the Michigan fellows, but they never stood a chance.
During the game post show, the gunfire around here really erupted. A lot of it I presume is fireworks but some of it you could actually hear the mechanical action in between the rounds being fired. Presumably down in a safe direction? All I know is my wife and I after a while felt like we might be better off trying to sleep on the floor. But we made it through the night safely.
I was tempted at one point to go out and "return fire " but there was no real reason to do that.
A bright beautiful dawn here this morning and an optimistic start to another new year on the "correct" side of the turf.
I'm thankful for the good things that did happen in 2021. I'm thankful for the potential disasters that did not happen. And I'm ready to face 2022 with an optimistic and peaceful outlook!
