Ingersoll Trailing Finish Mower RM48

Post by Seabee »

My cousin has a trailing finish mower of the RM48 vintage. It might even be considered a AHRM48 trailing mower (?). Anyway I told him I would post pictures and ask what it might be worth.

He says it will need a new belt and blades need sharpened. Otherwise, what you see is what is there. I actually saw it this summer and it is structurally Sound.

Thanks!

@Seabee I would have to think that this an early model HRM48H 3pt mower. :letmesee: I say early because it doesn't appear to have a case drain line. A AHRM48H would have had the case drain.
As always, the value of these attachments vary by the location and how bad somebody wants it. Prices seem to be going up lately. :O
These are another of the Ingersoll attachments you don't see for sale very often. I haven't seen one for sale in a while. Last fall/winter there was one for sale for a while in Illinois. If I remember correctly it was listed in the $7-800 range. It appeared in very good condition.

Ps. the blades are on upside down. :109:
:creeper: no more mow it's time to blow :446cart:

You are right about the blades being upside down! Sounds to me like they may have been replaced rather than sharpened! By the way the spindles do spin, but as long as it has set the bearings probably should be replaced.

Thanks Tim,

Bill

Here are a few pics of the AHRM48 I picked up a few years ago and refurbished. I had to replace two bearings on the center spindle and repainted it to match my 646. It worked very well this past summer to mow the back field which I mow about every few weeks. So it didn't get much use this past summer. With the big Ag tires on my 646 I would use this on my lawn.

I would say if it could be bought at a reasonable price they are worth the investment. The price I paid was a steal, I just had to drive three hours round trip to get it.

Keep the Peace
