What do you guys think of this 4016

I looked at this 4016 this morning. It's not perfect. It's in town and has 150hrs. What do you guys think? What's it worth?

Runs ok. Travel control is much smoother than my 4016. Hydravac works good. I did some oil on the back of the hydravac but none inside. Seemed like it was from storage with the line ends on the housing.

Usual crud underneath... has had some hydraulic lines replaced.

Seat needs repair/replacement. I heard water running in the seat when I tipped it up. The owner always stored it inside but gave it to his son who couldn't fit it in the garage or the shed which is why the owner took it back.

Some rust under the hood plus the hood doesn't close right. Looks like the sheet metal could be bent back.

@MattA with 150 hour that tractor is not broken in yet. I doubt that the hydravac has very many hours on it. The tractor even has rear hydraulics but not a three poit hitch. At the right price I would not hesitate. Is $2000 out of line on the high end?

I never started with anything that new or nice so can not comment of value . Like most things , what is it worth to you ?

It also comes with a second set of bags, tractor Jack and box store quality trailer which I did not check out.

The brakes do not work. I guess the brakes stuck on while the son had it. The owner freed up the brakes. I assume the band material is worn away.

It was listed at $3500, the seller offered it for $3000 and then later for $2500. He wants it to go to a good home.

Ask yourself , what can I get for $2500 $3500 . used that will do half of what that can ? Do you need it or just want it ? Can I easily afford it ?

The first thing I'd do is check that the hour meter functions... Did the owner buy it new? Does he have service records? Unfortunately some people are dishonest (or maybe just forgetful) and a replaced hour meter isn't uncommon.

That rust, the hood damage, and the decals missing (which normally start to peel due to engine heat), replaced (incorrect) front axle boots, and what appears to be a damaged blower housing (just from sucking up rocks, etc.) don't really scream "150hr tractor" to me.

Additionally it's a 16hp (the lowest HP offered in that generation) hand control non-PS unit. I'm not really seeing what makes it a $2500 machine other than it being a "newer" model with the webbed rear axle and the black frame.

Obviously it's your money but you already have Ingersoll tractors, other than the under-the-seat PTO (which is nice) I don't really see the value for you. If it was in great shape? Sure. I'd probably be a buyer at ~$1500. I'm in the midwest though, prices tend to be a little lower over here.
