It has been a few to many projects since my last posting. The Nissan has not ran in the past five years. It was wintered outside at the time and let smoke out of the distributor wiring harness. Last week it was moved into the shop for inspection.Points, condenser, and a coil were ordered. The plastic part that the coil to points wire goes through was completely melted. A replacement part was machined on the mill for a snug fit. Then the harness at the distributor was cut open for inspectionand traced back to the ignition switch.Luckily there was minor melting except for the last 6 inches of harness at the switch. Without any electrical drawing the task was a bit daunting. After 3 days of work we have a forklift with brakes, lights, easy to start, and a new seat.
The 45 year old Clark C500-50 that has no brakes, bad tires, worn lift chains, and a missing rating plate will go for a warm bath at the steal mill.
Just another step closer to working on the 646LBH.

One step at a time. Nothing can stop a man who has a shop and a working forklift!
Hm.. I think we need a forklift emoji
