Walker rolling

Was going to use the 444 to pull a roller. It wouldn’t start, battery charged, got fuel and spark. No go so the Walker Zero turn has a hitch to pull so used it instead. Rolled all the lawn areas in two directions which took two hours. My butt was sore from the zero turn seat. Looks like a new seat is in order.

Harry . There are springs under the seat . Do yourself a favour and change them when you do the seat . They break and cause problems with the seat switch .

There are three levels of seat available for the Walkers. I've only ever had the basic version, and yea, it's not the most comfortable...
They offer a suspension seat... If you look in to it, make sure you're sitting down (preferably on said seat), because you may have paid less for the machine than what they want for the seat.
There's a fabric version in between the suspension, and the stock seat that I'm toying with the idea of. Also absurdly expensive, but what implement seat isn't...

As for the seat switch, I had to bypass mine. Property is too rough, and it would keep getting triggered. It's a good idea, but just doesn't work for my situation.

I had the seat off to paint the metal under it, then bolted the seat back on. There are no springs under the seat it just bolts directly to the metal. The dealer I purchased it from told me the seats are not very comfortable. I believe he was trying to sell me one. I figured they were going to be to much for this penny pinching retiree. I’m looking at a suspension seat system and a new seat for the zero turn. The suspension system has a wire to attach to the kill switch. Thinking about the ones in the pics. Both made by same company so the bolt together.

I looked at those seat suspension systems for my 4016. It does add several inches to your seat height. I wasn't sure how I would like that. I ended up lowering my tire pressures to 6psi and dealing with it. Also thought about a gel seat pad.

On the Walker with original seat it seems low for me. So a few inches to raise my butt would be better. The seat and suspension system should be here in a couple of days and I’ll see. It’s too wet to mow and more rain on the way. The weather forecast this morning said it’s been one of the wettest April’s in history for my area.

I mowed today because it was getting to high. Had no problems where it was dry but in the low areas the tires were spinning. I got stuck twice and had yo go fetch the 644 lbh to pull it out. PITA for sure. First lift the back grass catcher which was almost full both times. The lift the seat to get to the two transmission levers to put in neutral. Then the chain and a nylon strap to the mower. Careful pull and no problem. I think I spent more time with the above details twice than the actual cutting time. The wet areas for the zero turn my cub cadet could navigate no problem.

Installed the seat suspension system and seat over the weekend. Seat to suspension system holes lined up good. They should because they were made by the same company. Suspension system to the zero turn was a different story. I had to drill two holes next to the original holes. One in front and one in the back. I put cardboard on the engine and had a shop vac where I had to drill to collect chips. Bolting it down took a bit of patience and finesse to get the Allen head bolts in just right. Deadman switch was easy to do by adding a plate from original seat across suspension system frame rails to activate switch. Suspension system had a slide mechanism to move seat forward and back, only about four inches because back of it seat hits grass catcher. It also has a weight adjustment for the seat, which I have to adjust yet. This actually is advertised as a fork truck seat and suspension system. I’ll let you know how it works out after I mow this week.
