The lathe I used in high school
10" Standard Modern Utilathe . I am not sure what you guys had down south , but everyone 50 and older who took machine shop used one of these in high school . My best memories of high school were at one of these machines . I now own one . Traded my small 7" lathe plus cash for it . I will take some pictures tomorrow. It was an adventure moving them in subzero temps.

I didn't get to any machining classes sadly, but I'd bet most folks in the US saw Southbends.

Still have to make drawers for the tooling , but it is ready to use .
Machine shop corner ready . Now to sort out the rest of the shop .
