Re: The weather
Dave - much accumulated snow do you have on the ground? Down here around our corner of Lake Ontario we have maybe 1-2 inches of crusty white stuff.

Re: The weather
12-18" of compacted snow on the ground . 18" on the house garage roof 4/12 pitch . The roof vents were buried . Started snow related duties at 6;30 this morning. Just finished at 12;30 . Had to cut a path out to the highway so the wife can go to work and open her store (manager) . Now trying to catch my breath before trying to get some work done in the shop .RoamingGnome wrote: ↑Sun Dec 14, 2025 10:29 am Dave - much accumulated snow do you have on the ground? Re: The weather
Ya. This morning about 15cm down and still snowin. Wind has picked up , so blowing snow too. No driveway cleaning today I don’t think.
Did a bunch of work to the 1970 jobn Deere 140 H3 charging system a month or so ago. All seemed good. Not. Took it out last nite to try it out. Was only out for 15 minutes. Charging on the way out. No charging on the way in.
So have to do musical tractors again today to get one that can move snow.

Re: The weather
I had a few inches here and there which keeps adding up with no melting because of the low temperatures. Today in the teens with not much wind. Only had to use the 446 with caster three times. I still have a few upgrades to do on it like the caster chain guide blocks like David did. Also want to rework the doors with piano hinges. Harry

Re: The weather
Well. Another January thaw is here. Melted a lot of snow yesterday. And tomorrow, they say, is going to be 13C/55F. Sooooooo , maybe a green Xmas. But have to wait and see. Long range is saying a little snow Xmas eve day.

Re: The weather
here too , but only 7C and rain this evening here, and just for fun it's then going below freezing . Took advantage of the warmer weather and put the studs in the 3 rib front tires of the 446 blower tractor . pack of a 100 4mm x 12mm long . studs for lesss than $25 seams to make a difference already. We will see what they do when things freeze up .
