Best mod you have done

Post by DavidBarkey »

We almost all have done some mod or upgrade to our machines to suit our own personal needs . Be it of your design or others enginering . What is the best one for you ? For me it is Raising the steering wheel height and changing it to a larger diameter for the extra leverage .

One I've done is powering the top chute defector on my snow blowers, throwers, so I can change the distance snow goes, or quickly stop the snow from blowing onto my face. This was done with hydraulic cylinders and power window motors. Great thing.

Calling it a "mod" is a stretch, but adding the mini-skid Quick Attach plate to my loader was a game changer!

For me, with a LOADER, putting 16 inch rims and tires on it so I can use combine weights to counter balance the loader:

Mine should be obvious; I had to lie on my back for hours to get a full understanding of what was going on. Then, once I knew what was going on, it took me many hours to find an outlet that has a bulk discount to the general public. After I found that I had to learn what all the letters meant on parts that look exactly the same. I am glad I did that because some versions of the parts available would not have been good parts for my goal. Then, by installing many of these assemblies, I started tweaking the parts to make installation easier. Then I had to do the same for the ones I sold.

Getting the travel control to stop it from pooping wheelies or surging ahead when you need a gentle move forward was a huge triumph. Also, I was the first guy to say the TCV control lever bushing is a must-change item, whereas before that, everyone said you need a new inline link, and that was all.

I wish it were worth a patent. It pisses me off that some dikk wad in the northeast copied what I did and then claimed he invented it, and that my version is weak, and his is better. He has tried to get my source for parts so many times and has often created fake Facebook profiles and used several other methods on eBay. And then when I shut it down, he would message me saying that we should all be sharing things for the community.

He should work on staying away from me. I have done things in my past that not many people have done, physically. It was years of fun I had to enjoy on my own because I could not find anyone to share it with. At least not after just 10 minutes, when I would go until my fuel tank warned me to head back to shore. I am 62, and I can still curl a Kohler engine, and I can lift the Onan, but I have not tried to curl that one. I heat with wood pellets and curl the 40 lb bags when I refill the stove. Those are pretty easy compared to engines.

I did make some pretty cheap, not-too-hard-to-make snowcaster chute rotation and chute angle using the same motor for each from Surplus Center. I did make those for a while to sell. I think the wiring is challenging to some people. Mr Wad did not copy those. And then others have told me they switched their wiring to a joystick control. That would be pretty cool.

I was also the first to do an install with descriptions and parts sources to make the implement lift work as an A-B valve to control which one is active while the other is locked in place, where you want it. I went into full detail on that. Mr Wad did copy those. His prices are too high, and there are not that many sales on his eBay listing.

Having said all that, my by far best change is going through the engine using the right parts and having what is needed, machined. I even quit using the drill hone I have for the cylinder bores. The machine shop hone makes perfect circles, and the hone I have does not. That is my favorite mod. I do not have one motor that leaks. I do not have one motor that burns a quart of oil before it gets changed. I do not have one engine that is hard to start or does not run perfectly.

LOL Oh I forgot this "non" exists..... :wave3: Except every time he gets off his meds and hits the internet and probably bottle...... Steven your delusional lmao  :114: :114: , no for real as another incoherent out of context rambling post. Your insecure and narcissistic traits are so deep you cant hide them at all but the patheticness is truly sad but laughable at the same time. :geek: Again because you throw a fire storm of BS and lies, I will respond again and make you look a fool once again, It seems we do this somewhere every 6 months (time for your shot). The only times I have ever reached out to that I can think of was one of the countless times when you were degrading or being a couple di*k to someone learning or asking questions in some group....most times a kid at that. :smash: :headbash: And because you are a legend in your own mind you think you impress people... :bla: :worship:  But news flash you are the only one you impress with your self proclaimed BS. This is why you have been literally kicked out of countless, hell just about every garden tractor forum and social media group. :cop: But let me guess its everyone else thats wrong and you have excuses why lmao. I have talked to many that met you in person and say you are the same sad, arrogant pathetic human in person and your work leaves a lot to be desired in person... :creeper: :107: :phew: :7: :42: :106:

Now as far as your linkage... Its the dozens of your past customers that told me about its weak design and the failures and thats why they end up buying only once from us after yours, its them that sent me pics of your or copies to see how weak it is,. :40: :112: :114: I never wanted it, never ordered one from you, have no use for your inferior parts so why would I want them? (Though they are easy off the self parts to be had by anyone) the only reason I had to post comparison pictures was because of some other BS post with lies and false claims you did like this somewhere else or maybe one of your 25 revised EBAY post crying about me lol.... :violin: :(( And Guess what the photos speak for themselves. Our kit is no copy :letmesee: lol and hands down a "complete" and heaver kit. But guess what who cares! I know you have pictures of your sad linkage on the wall, you have one on your pillow and you pick one up everyday and admire your lacking accomplishment.... :barf:  But for us it is literally 1 of thousands of parts we stock and sell.Yes we sell a lot of them every week. But its only one item of hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars that move through here every year. :78: I know its your only clam to anything in your pathetic existence and the only thing you have done with your life is some pretty simple basic brainless screw together design of a bunch of common off the self parts (pretty damn sad). I do not care where you get your parts nor have I ever, :bla: :bla: we we buy many things every day in bulk buy the hundreds lol this kit is only one thing. :106: Your small pile of parts on your table in your picture does not impress anyone, and would impress less if you actually had a big table lol.... :hm:

I have no clue what you are talking about fake profiles, ebay and reaching out to you lmao your shrink really needs to lock your delusional self up somewhere... :whip: :whip: And are your trying to flex, intimidate about lifting tiny small engines lmao? Your doing neither but showing your pathetic insecure, egocentric sad self to everyone. Least intimidated is me I promise you boy.. :call: :D :42:  I will reimburse your coward self in cash for a one way ticket if you want to come "curl engines?" lmao Ill simply just curl you into a pretzel and simply get right back to selling countless more of our version heavy duty linkages. :peace: You have no clue what my sales are you bum but I guess your trying to flex again and failing? Do you want to compare bank accounts too now, I am afraid if we do... you might go really off the deep end and not come back up again..... :spin: :hitsfan: :D :dizzy: :dizzy: Send me the bill for all the space i been taking up in your small head for free I got no problem paying it. "My prices are too high" lmfao  tell the 2,000 plus orders a year we do that and our orders EACH probably average more than you make in a few days of your income. :letmesee: This may come off wrong to some our rub some the wrong way and thats fine, Im sick of this non every 6 months, for years making some BS post or comment randomly and unprovoked about me or our business out of the blue and then I must waste time I don't have to correct his BS and outright likes and false claims. So Im not worried about PC etc. :cop:  Just telling it as it is and defending a attack that in no way was initiated or call for. As always the great thing is when ever this bum makes these post our sales for our superior linkage double and triple for a couple weeks lol. :inacall: <Taking another order for our linkage :D so I keep telling him where do I send a check to my best salesman... :giggle: :gift: :$$: SO Ill just leave a few pictures and again let them speak fro themselves on the linkage itself. Hey Steve Merry Christmas Man Life to short so move one with it! :gift:      :peace: :8: And Merry Christmas all!!

I’ve done so many mods it’s hard to say for sure. Everytime I crank up the 646 with the Honda OHV 20 hp engine and it start immediately, I think the repower is the #1. :peace: Harry

I was a really big fan of the GX670 I had in my 4020, the Vanguard V-Twins are so so so much worse cold starting! I would definitely recommend a Honda engine to anyone looking to repower.

I seen a GX670 on Marketplace for $1400, that’s out of my current tractor money fund.
