My dumb luck with tractors
I wanted to pull my log splitter next door to my daughters house to split some larger pieces into smaller ones. Her very efficient fireplace insert will only take a small log. I wanted to use the 444 which I mostly use to pull trailers around. I just installed a new relay and a used Delco starter generator. It cranked fine but wouldn’t start. Tried a little starting fluid and still no go.
Next went to the 446 with the caster on it ready for snow. It cranked over fine but wouldn’t start not start.
By this time my patience was wearing thin. Next in line was the 646 loader that I just installed the big bucket. Honda OHV 20 hp started like a champ as it always does. Pulled the splitter over, split all the large pieces up cleaned up the mess and took the splitter home. I then decided to put the 446 in the shop and put the 646 in the lean to. The 446 started right up with no problem, go figure. I haven’t tried to start the 444 that I usually install a plow blade on. Harry
