646 upgrade

Post by Harry »

Since I had the 646 in the shop for the tcv relief reset, I figured it was time to work on it some more. First was I never liked the angle of the cab, to much slant forward. So I made a transition plate which was added to the front under the windshield. Next I removed the throttle control and drilled out the rivet and replaced it with a bolt and nylock nut. This will hold the throttle where I set it, instead of it backing off. I also removed the right rear wheel and drained the liquid ballast out of the tire. Installed a tube and reassembled with the combine wheel weights like the left side. One last item was since the cab was installed the hood would not stay open. It would hit the cab so I had to use a stick to keep it open when working on the engine. I took an old hinge welded a tab to it to make a latch. Then bolted it to the cab, the pic will give you the idea. I have one more item to take care of and I’ll post that when I complete it. :peace: Harry

This upgrade took awhile to make all the parts tocomplete the job. This larger bucket is to move wood chips to my back nursery area. The original bucket is about 1/4 yard and this larger one is a little shy of a 1/2 yard. Harry

Nothing ventured nothing gained is my theory. It will make a good snow pusher if nothing else. I’ll post my findings when the time comes. Harry
