New fuel line

Post by MattA »

About 6 years ago I replaced the fuel line from the fuel filter forward on my 4016. Due to lack of time I put off replacing the section from the tank to the fuel filter up front. Also 6 years ago my first of two kids was born... so you know where the time went. Anyways I started the project last night. In the bag with the fuel hose was a receipt from 5/30/19...
Rear PTO, hydravac mount and rear fenders all had to come off. Not wanting to pull the deck off, I duct taped the new and old fuel lines together and pushed with one hand and pulled with the other hand to work the fuel line through the tractor. Worked great. New line was installed and I tucked a few inches of extra line up under the tractor. The old line barely made it from tank to fuel filter. If you have a newer tractor like I do with fender lights, there is a plug in each fender harness and a ground ring terminal located where the fenders meet the rear fuel tank sheet metal. About 2hrs or so of labor. Finished assembling about 7:30 this morning.

I realized recently that the faint gas smell around my tractor is now gone
