Bad hydraulic leak.

Post by propane1 »

Cutting grass yesterday, first cut of the year, and the Case 224 and newly installed spindle bearings, this past winter, was working great. Then, all a a sudden, oil everywhere. So will take it to my sons place to put on hoist and see what happened.

Grumble :giggle:

Noel.

Well I guess on the bright side you won’t have to worry about the mower deck getting rusty for awhile! :giggle:

Be interested to see what you find once you get it up on the lift.

So found leak. Pump needs o ring. And I have a used o ring. Not to bad to put o ring in. But gettin the pump out is nasty.
Anybody have a good pump to travel valve hose for sale in Canada ? Mines got a small cut on the outside covering. Not leaking, but if in there change it too maybe.

@propane1 A pump o-ring would have been my last guess, and totally agree that pump removal is the last thing one wants to do.

I have three 200 series tractors destination for parting out. One may have a hose suitable for resale.

Noel , I have a number of hoses in my box of "stuff" . I have been having new ones made . quite reasonably too . Giving the age of anything used , me I go new see it is the first one in line off the pump. \The line is just a 90 swivel oring boss with a jicf straight on the other end . Just make sure you ask for 5/8" hose to maximise flow .
you may keep the change

Agreed , the suction hose is another deal altogether . Older front mount take tractor are easy , just bulk hose . Newer Battery support tanks with moulded hoses are a different story .
