Re: The weather
Our property line is bound by 40 year old pines. The lower Noth side facing the neighbors had dead stock up 12 feet high.
It took 2 big days to prum.
Clearing brush and pull grapevine out of the 400 foot tree row did a number on my hands.So seasonal transition from snow removal to yard work for the 646 has begun with 4 loads of trimmings. About 4 more loads to finish.

Re: The weather
It's hard work for sure , but I will be glad when we can do our spring cleanup here . Funny thing though with the snow . There is not a Black fly or mosquito to be found . We have had highs of 15C / 60F here the last couple of days ,windy and rain on and off . That has taken a big bite out of our snow pack . This keeps up , we can start out yard work the end of the month after the ground dries up .

Re: The weather
@FUTZ They were hauled up to our fire pit. The trimmings were small, extremely dry and each load would burn down in 20 minutes. There is a lot of bigger stuff from 3 trees taken down for the shop build that will be cut for heat next winter.

Re: The weather
Major ice storm has left us without power about 9 hours so far and don't expect it to be back on until the end of day or possibly tomorrow . 1/8" fence wire is around an inch thick with ice . Trees down all over the place taking out hydro wires , buildings and blocking roads . Fun and games .

Re: The weather
@DavidBarkey Yikes!
Hopefully you've got wood stoves in the house and shop...
I don't know if we even got any freezing rain overnight in Hamilton - it's just wet and soggy here. Kind of dreading the next trip to the property, Talked to our neighbour yesterday - they got a fresh foot of snow a couple of days ago, and were forecast to get the same sort of ice accumulation as you've got...

Re: The weather
Holy moly, not good. Hope you guys don’t wind up with damage. I’m sure I don’t need to say but I’m going to anyway. TREAD LIGHTLY. Let’s not get hurt trying to shuffle along on almost an inch of ice.
Hope it melts off quickly.
