646 cab

Today I removed the hood and then made a transition plate to move the hood forward about 2”. Then fabricated an angle iron bracket to bolt the transition plate and the front of the cab to the tractor utilizing the holes where the hood hinge was bolted on. It took a while to make the parts then bolt them on. Now on to make some brackets to attach the rear of cab to the tractor utilizing. Harry

Hey Harry , You able to put screens in those windows open so you can work bug free in the Non Winter months ? You need one of theses for sure .

Finished the rear brackets and primed them, they are drying by the wood furnace. Harry

Assembled all the painted parts today and also put the windshield in. Getting close to being done with this project and move unto the next. Harry

Out of curiosity... What size rear tires are you running on your 646?
The tires on both my 644 are very weather/age cracked - to the point that I didn't want to try loading them with RV antifreeze...
I've been looking for used 27x8.50-15 tires, but they just don't seem to show up on FB Marketplace in my area - when it actually gets warmer I can finish painting my 16" rims that I was going to put AG tires on - but they were really intended for either the 195 or the 446...
or maybe I'll just find some used 15" truck tires and say 'good enough' - Why are all the aggressive ATV tires only 14"???

Gerry, these big ags I found on CL a few years ago. I believe they are 11:00 X 16. The guy bought them for his Kubota tractor and then after the job he bought them for was over decided to sell them. I think I got a good deal for $300 for tires loaded with rims that bolted right on. I only had to make footboards and fenders to complete the conversion. Harry

@Harry Your cab design is intriguing. The wider finders and footboards are probably a huge bonus for driver comfort with a wider cab.

I finally installed the glass today. It always seems to complete a project the little things are always a PITA. The only item I’m still pondering is to make some short curtains out of some vinyl to fill the gap between the fenders and the cab. How does she look Boys? Harry

Looks great Harry! First through that came to mind was heave canvas for the curtain around the bottom. Might hold up better that vinyl.

Custom wheatland fenders, custom cab, your making that into quite a machine!
