Snow removal equipment

The OEM snowcaster lift arm retaining clips get mangled on my CB34 cabs sort of lift arm guard bracket. The bracket essentially holds the cab fabric away from the lift arm assembly.
Brand new clips get hung up and mangled.

Figured I'd try something else... had this laying around. Probably should have done this years ago...Finally got some time off of work to do these sort of things

I installed a light bar on my 446 snow machine but never use it because I always move snow during the day. Harry

Unfortunately , or fortunately (I will let you decide ) my is not retired yet . So when big snow comes I have to clear at least enough for her to get out to work . That means in the dark . Being in the country , when it is dark it is Dark out . Or the

My wife just retired December 20/24. So no more going out in the dark and snow storms to get driveway ready so she can get out and back in.

So , I am out blowing snow . We got about 6-8 in. of powder with high winds blowing it about . About half way through the chute started clogging up and it was making a funny noise like the was something wrong with the chain . Did this a few times and then I found out why . The pulley on the jack shaft was a layin on the ground . Because I had rebuilt this thing a couple of years ago and everything got clean and painted there was no "Natures Lok Tight (rust) to keep it together . The set screws had come loose and it was moving around until off it came, and gone was the wooddrift key and one set screw . Now I do have a nice warm shop to work in , except there is an old duster on the hoist for some more welding and the tractor is to tall with the cab to under it . So I had to fix it in the house garage which is non heated , poor lighting ect. fortunately I do have a stock of set screws and assort keys . I most say the air was Blue in the garage until I got it fixxed . I had to use a ratchet strap to hold the tentioner arm up to put the belt on . Just don't have the hand strength anymore especially in the cold .
The upside is that the new Big steering wheel is working out really well .So much easier to steer and being higher is way better for my back . Any of you guys with back issues got to do this upgrade with a high back skid steer seat like I have . Make all the difference in the world . Got couple more inches last night so , after chores I will be clearing the hardscape and packing the gravel section of the driveway .

I got about 4” of snow last night and this morning it warmed up. Very wet snow which I knew would only pack into the big snow caster and end up just pushing it off the driveway. So I used the 444 with utility blade and pushed it all to the road. All the wet snow piled at the end if the drive was too much for the 444 to move. Tires with chains kept spinning. So park the 444 and bring out the 644 lbh to bucket the wet snow pile on the driveway off the driveway on the lawn. It was terrific seat time playing with the GT’s. Any little boy would be envious. The worst part was having to work in the cold . A warm shop has got me spoiled . I am glad we are not dealing with that mess again like couple of years ago . That year we were suppose to go to the outlaws , but stayed home and went done a week later .
Between yesterday and last night we got another foot white stuff .
On the weekend they are calling for above freezing and rain . Oh what mess that is going to be .
The residents of the Quack Shack will be in heaven .
