No, I was going to pile it up out in the field and have a big bonfire, but I decided on something else for it. I have a spot at the back of the property I’m going to make piles of it with the hopes it will become a habitat for rabbits. There isn’t much cover for them and the coyotes really have a feast. Don’t know if it will work but I figured it’s worth a try.

Honestly I caught myself thinking, “well the hood still looks good. And I bet I could use the muffler and precleaner.
I tell you the old tractor bug is an insidious disease!

Garage door spring gave out this morning with a nice bang Both cars were in the garage and the 8'x16' garage door was down. I ended up lifting the garage door 2" at a time and my wife slid in and stacked up some 2"x8" 's. Garage door is extremely heavy with one broken spring. Ended up sliding my floor jack under the door and lifting the door 15-18" and then manually lifting the door the rest of the way. As the door goes up it gets lighter. Those first few lifts were quite heavy. Now I need to figure out how to deal with it. Looks like the springs need to be ordered. 0.25" diameter wire, 2.625" coil ID. Broken spring is about 27.5", good spring is about 30". Repair may take as long as finding the damn springs.

@MattA I just made this repair to one of my doors back in the spring. Sounds like you have all measurements you need. Wire size coil ID and the correct overall length. I ordered my new springs off of Amazon. The repair is relatively easy. The only thing to watch out for is the spring tension. There is A LOT of energy stored in that spring. Make dang sure you don’t let go when winding it, and count the number of turns you need for that spring and door combination. There were some really good videos on YouTube that helped
