Trailer fix up.
This trailer of mine is about 13 years old or so. Noticed the floorboard starting to go two years ago. Was gunna replace them last year. But oh no, hurricane Fiona decides to make me do wood clean up all last spring, summer and fall. So doing the floorboard fix up this year.
So getting it done, got 5 boards in now today. Long old process. I did put two coats of preservative on the boards last week. All the metal where the board lay on the trailer is getting undercoated and all drilled holes are getting lubed.
Was gunna paint it too this year. But but. To many things to do. So next year will be paint. Couple of pictures. I’ll try to get more as I go along.

Re: Trailer fix up.
Good start on it Noel . My 4x8 is made the same way as yours . Bought it in 2012 and had to to the same last year as well . Should have lasted longer , but the wood got neglected and never sealed . This time , white oak sealed with linseed oil every fall .

Re: Trailer fix up.
So as of today, had to cut grass this morning, but was able to get one floorboard in today. 3 left to go. It’s time consuming. But might have the rest in tomorrow. MIGHT.
Any way, it’s coming along. Sorry no picture.

Re: Trailer fix up.
So today we got the last three boards in.
Wood part is all done. Still a little metal work to do.

Looking good Noel! The floor in my trailer is so rotten I’m scared to take it on the road! This job is on my list to, just don’t know when!

I know what you mean Jeff. I was planning to do this last spring, but hurricane Fiona changed my plans.

Re: Trailer fix up.
So a little more done on the trailer. Put the cover over the dove tail opening. Welded that in. Cleaned out the tools. Clean the tools up and put them away. I hate picking up an oily tool. Swept the dirt and saw dust out.
Looks alright. So tomorrow because the dove tail part is in, I’m hoping to under coat the bottom. And have to put the screws back in the clamps that hold up the trailer wires. Will be useable this coming week, if things go well on Monday.

Re: Trailer fix up.
So clamped up all the wiring where it was suppose to go. Adjusted the brake shoes and undercoated it. Then I took it home, more or less for a test run and check how brakes work. Plus I’ve got two lights not working bad bulb in one I’d say and the other is a bad connection.
So she’s basically done. It needs a paint job. But that will now wait till next year.
