Speaking of easy access to work on, the best I had was a 78 F-150 with the 3 on the tree and 300 straight 6. Literally step on the bumper, over the radiator to the frame then step down to the ground :O NO laying on the fender to change the plugs and wires or loosen the oil filter  And the wiring was about as complicated as a Farmall H  It was old when I got it showing 79k on the 5 digit odometer, I got another 185k out of it. After 10 years I finally parked it as the body was getting so bad I thought it might fall off the frame ;) Hard to believe that 300 / 6 was only 80 or 85 HP.

Some I have worked on just to get to the battery, you had to remove a cross member, air filter housing, and computer :headbash: Or take the motor mount bolts out and jack up the engine to replace spark plugs.

It is funny to see all these car manufacturers getting into electric and claim theirs is the best. When if you look up the data, they are all playing a POOR game of ketchup with Tesla. And the sales #'s show it. From what I have seen, Tesla's go from the factory direct to the customer no sitting on sales lots :smash: The last report a month ago said if you ordered a Tesla you could expect delivery in late January to late February depending on the model.

The world is warming and this is causing the climate due to various factors like a major shift in the jet stream . Most people don't understand how a couple of degrees change in ocean temps can have an effect . Well it does . Floods, droughts, blizzards , extreme heat , ect. aren't just heard of more because its sells ratings ,it's happening more often . Where we are it use to classed zone 4b for agg. now we are 5b . We are benefiting from , where others are suffering . As some places warm up others cool off as a result . That is why it is now called Climate Change but is due to Global Warming . Ethanol was put in fuel to shut up the wagon hoppers and to give the farmers who are subsidized by both governments to have something to do with excess corn that they are paying for . At some point in the future we need to get completely away from fossil fuels but we first must have viable replacements in place and proven. This takes time and willingness of people to change . We still have people that use horse and cartage yet the 4 stroke engine has been prominent for 100 years now . The problem is we don't have a 100 more years to make the switch . Most of the world pollution is not coming from North America or Europe (we don't make jack shit here anymore) but we all are buying all the goods made from the countries that are making most of the pollution. Put in place restrictions that limit goods coming in from abroad that do not meet emission standards ( alot of these factories are owned by or supported by western Corporations ) . Force mandatory 100 % warranties on tech and other high demand products . Outlaw designed obsolescence most new fridges don't last but couple of years yet there are 1970s fridges still running and have non stop since made . Why do we have so much garbage , because we have been brainwashed by corporations we have to have everything now ! Well to have it all now it has to be cheap and it will be cheap or financed for the rest of your life. The rich don't want you to buy quality they want you to keep buying there cheaply build designed to fail crap over and over .

We'll have to agree to disagree. 1936 was the hottest North American year on record, by an huge margin. The 5 hottest years of the 20th century were all before 1950, when atmospheric carbon levels were way lower than today. Then everything started to cool down from the late 50's and 60's culinating in 1979, the second coldest year of the 20th century. "Experts" at periodicals like the New York Times and Time Magazine and National Geographic spent the first half of the century fretting about the hot weather and melting ice sheets. Then, predictably, the next generation of media "experts" spent 30 years fretting over the coming ice age. Now the "experts" are back to heating.

James Hansen warned us that "if nothing is done about carbon", then the Long Island Expressway would be under seawater by 2012. Nothing was done about carbon, but the expressway seems fine. Recently, various "experts" have assured us that "if nothing is done about carbon" that the North Polar sea would be free of summer ice cover by... 2012. Or 2016. Or 2018. Or 2021. Nothing has been done about carbon. China continues year after year to emit more than double the carbon of the USA, Canada, and Europe combined. Nothing will be done to rein in China, but you and I may well lose our reliable and cheap and decentralized gasoline transportation. Britain has already outlawed gasoline cars after 2030, and just this week they announced that at-home car chargers will only work during certain hours. I guess in Britain, you'll drive if and when they tell you to. Surely no politician would ever abuse that power, right?

Glacier National Park was supposed to have all melted by 1948. That prediction failed, so they moved it to 1961. That prediction failed, so they moved it to 2002. That prediction failed, so they moved it to 2020. That prediction failed, so they moved it to 2044. There's always doom, somewhere in the near future unless we relinquish our freedoms and obey the "experts".

While all this is going on, the north polar ice extent carries on, year after year, within predictable variances. Some years are big, some are small. Last year was small, this year is medium. 3 or 4 years back was an unusually large year for north polar sea ice. Same with the Greenland ice sheet, same with Glacier National Park. And no one bothers to address the elephant in the room: We all know that the planet is emerging from an Ice Age. Something we cannot control, cannot accurately predict, and frankly cannot explain. Why do Ice Ages even happen? Why was the warmest period in recorded history the Medieval Warm Period, some 800 years ago? There was very little manmade carbon, that's for certain. What's going to happen next? No One Knows.

But the never-ending drumbeat of impending panic and doom sells papers and funds scientific grants. Most importantly, though it gives good reason for us uneducated rubes to bow down and obey our betters in government.

As for me, after a century of documented false hype and failed predictions, I no longer believe the global hoax that cried wolf. I would need to see the "experts" make a single accurate prediction before I'd even consider changing my mind.
