Is there enough area that you could think about something like an 8N? With the wheels set out all the way, filled tires, and wheel weights, they seem to cling to slopes pretty good. Perhaps something a little later with a live PTO, and a lower bottom gear would be better, but that all adds weight, complexity, and price. The N's really are grass cutting monsters once you get used to their quirks, and they're typically cheap, and easy to work on.

I had access to a 1978 Yanmar YM155D 2 wheel drive with a 6 foot mid mount mower. It was a great tractor on our hills. If not for being in a position of a conflict of interest, I would have purchased it. It sold private for $1500. The 1979 version was rebranded and sold in JD colors. The JD paint would have added $5000 to the price. There are a few Yanmar labeled unites still in the area but parts are hard to come by.

Busy weekend at the 'Roost...
Spent Saturday trying to get organized - I really wanted to do some work at the property since it was calling for stinking hot weather in Southern Ontario this week... was finally ready to leave mid-day and then got stuck in Toronto traffic :spin: and arrived just before dark :headbash:
At least I was there for a fresh start Sunday morning, the mission for the weekend was to find our driveway - weeds have been growing unchecked all spring - and nobody has been feeding the mosquitoes or black flies (and the deer flies are starting to come out too :( )

I was happy to find my chainsaw/weed whacking PPE actually fit inside our bug suits that was a big bonus

There is about 1800' or roughly half a kilometer of driveway on the property - full of weeds, leaves from last fall and all the bits of branches from winter storms - so there had to be some raking up as well

filled up the fuel tank on the string trimmer 6 or 7 times in 2 days

Unfortunately I only got about 3/4 done... Trimmer spool ran out of line - mental note to get a 2nd spool for next time

New record for my fitbit - wonder if that pushes me up a catagory into super hero or elite athlete or something

Looks like you made some good progress on the spring cleanup. Black flies or they call them buffalo gnats down here didn’t exist in this area till the last 5 years or so. Man how miserable they are! Naturally upon there arrival I found out I’m quite susceptible to the bite. I swell up and look like I’ve been beaten with a baseball bat! The first year they were around I got pretty sick and wasn’t sure what the problem was. My doctor informed me I had “ black fly fever”! You guys can take them back north anytime you like!

I have found bug repellent with vanilla in it helps keep them away from me. This is the one I use.
