Re: Pictures: this moment
I too just sold mine. Haven't been on it in a long time, and would rather see someone else ride it. A little cash boost is nice too!
I hope to get back to riding again one day, but as @Eugen says it's a chapter that's over for now. Lots of memories with it too. Agree with @JSinMO there seems to be more distracted driving these days, and I too had a few close calls.

Re: Pictures: this moment
Eugen seeing your bike on the trailer reminded me of when I sold my last Harley. Seeing the new owner leave with it on his trailer put a tear in my eye. I hope all is well with no bike.

Re: Pictures: this moment
Eugen- Earlier Case and later ingersoll decks used cast steel spindle housings. The cast aluminum housings used for a few years tend to pit and corrode. I broke an aluminum housing trying to remove the bearings. Ended up getting a full set of steel housings.

Re: Pictures: this moment
Good eye Matt, the white deck has aluminum spindle housings. Not planning to use them, or the deck, it's the smaller size. Too bad, the steel on it is in the best shape of all three. What I want is to put together a deck for the 444. You guys in the
are looking at this and I don't blame you for thinking "that's a pile of junk". But here it's very rare to find Case stuff into good shape. I'm goings to modify a set of spindle housing to take an easier and less costly bearing.

Those decks look rebuildable. My early RM48 deck was in much worse shape when I got it. I think it had at least 7 or 8 broken welds.

Thanks Matt! I don't feel so bad now.
The white deck has just surface rust, it would have been the easiest to restore. But it's smaller in size. I might harvest its spindles. One of the larger two decks has an area rusted through, and the other had the middle spindle housing with a broken top. Going to start a new thread on this undertaking.

@eugen those don’t look to bad to me. Glad you have a few to build on. I think the deck I got with my 446 is in worse shape. By the way thanks for reminding of another project I’ll get to some day!

Eugen, looks like pure Gold to me. It’s all in eyes of the Beer holder.
