Clearing away projects one at a time.

Post by Spike188 »

I have a very cluttered garage, and lots projects have been on hold for 3 years.
A big one is the 646lbh. In the past month things have began to come together. One of the first projects was replacing the 30 year old antenna at the top of our 40 tower. An improvement of 3 channels to 30-50 depending on weather. The first day 2 accents were all that was possible. By the end of 2 weeks there was no limit to stamina.

Over a dozen trips up were accomplished in 2 days. An old antenna tossed to the ground and new ones hoisted up and mounted.

A favorite customer had dropped of his mother's early 1900's Singer 3 years ago. It sat at the end of the office desk untill this week It is a marvelous work of craftsmanship.

The prisicion that went into the 22 lb work hourse is beyond belief. The bobbin mechanism was locked up on it. It took several hours of cleaning, and reseting the needle timing.

Now it lays a perfect stitch. The customer picked up both of his sewing machines Tuesday.
The next project it repairing brick work around our garage header.

Some brick has been removed and a jack post is in place.
There are still a lot of small projects to clear away but maybe the 646lbh is back on the to do list.

I am back to work full time, but keep having to tell myself, slow down, don't push things to hard yet. My lungs feel great and I'm not needing naps as much.

I am blessed.

@Spike188 , I'm really glad to hear the effects on your health are subsiding and you're feeling better. A young guy at work has been hit really hard by long covid. Very strange virus, for sure, the symptoms he still has, after so long, a guy who was really healthy before. Anyway, it's nice to see also that you're back to projects. Seeing how you got that sewing machine to work correctly again, that's like magic to me, as it always seemed to me that once a sewing machine isn't sewing properly it's gone forever.

Me personally, have to contend with a pause in tractor related projects, other aspects of life are imposing.

Great news to hear your feeling better Spike. Climbing the tower to me is a feat in itself. I hope your wore a harness when climbing. Keep up the progress but don’t push yourself to much. :peace: Harry

Spike, yes it does. When I first started doing welding inspection the girl at the office sent me out to inspect some welds on a cell phone tower. I’m thinking they would have a jlg there to lift be up. No such luck, when I got there they wanted me to climb the tower. Since I had knee replacements a few years earlier I walked away from that job. The office wasn’t to happy with me but I was looking out for my own safety. :peace: Harry
