Good catch! I found myself doing the same thing today. Hooked up the wrong wire and couldn’t figure out why things didn’t work!

Should teach me a lesson to replace wrong color wires. The previous owner used red wire to the points and black to the coil positive. At some point I must've made a mental note which got lost in time.
