Winds are reaching 80 kph / 50 mph now , but snow has stopped . power has flickered a couple of time , but so far so good . Had to put the birds to bed early today . Chickens are happy to go into there coops early when like this but the duck are like a bunch of 2 year old not wanting to go for there nap . :)) Mr Whiskers is NOT fond of this weather and is quite happy to curl up in his shelter . :wife: took the day off , schools shut down today as well . Looking at the news , so far we been spared the worst of it unlike some places that are / have been hammered . :hitsfan:

Rain most of the day here. Sun peeked through the clouds for a bit this afternoon. Still windy with some rain. Temps are dropping from 55F at noon to 12F at 7am. That's a 43F temp drop.

We have now two small generators, one I got from Dave and another which came up for sale cheap recently. Haven't yet figured out a way to hook them up to things in the house but watch me doing it like speedy Gonzales if the power goes out.

@Jancoe too bad you couldn't go ice fishing, hopefully soon!

@Timj don't you like it when the storm is not as bad as they forecasted? Hope it happens to us too.

@Gordy same happened to me last winter. What are you gonna do? Plan b?

@myerslawnandgarden how was the drive in this morning? Don't know if you get the same storm there but hope you get home safe! :wave2:
AM drive was not nearly as bad as it could have been with more snow, the weather guys clearly missing the snow totals by a mile around here. Staying in tonight and will wait until the wind dies down and the temperature goes up some before blowing snow. Happy holidays to all,
Bob

-15f this mourning, made it up to -5 and cooling back down -10 now. We had frequent sounds like a freight train all day, the pine trees are mostly green again and judging by the whiteouts (looking out the window) the roof should be almost clear by now :please:

5F / -15 C with steady winds of 30 mph / 45 K and very strong gust. Power was out about 2 hours this morning and shorter outages all afternoon. Maybe 3" of snow accumulation. We have not ventured out of the house today.

Did not get alot of snow only about 3" / 25 cm , but freight train high wind gust all day and night 35-90 kph / 20-55 mph . Every time it gust it moves the pole and sets off the motion light in the drive way . All night long . It only does that when wind speed get over 80 kph. Only Damage was a limb down out front yesterday . We wills see how things faired last night when the sun come up . All in all we were spared so far but to the north and south of us not so much based on road closers . Hope you guys all made out ok .

The weather man said this morning that winds were gusting at 70 mph last night, now they are about 50 mph. Mostly drifted snow here and with the wind blowing it’s hard to tell if it’s dropping any new snow. It’s not over yet here, suppose to end tomorrow morning. :peace: Harry
