Used the Case 446 a bit today.

Post by propane1 »

Had some exhaust repairs to do to the ranger truck today. So took the opportunity to put the winter tires on, grease shafts and front end, and adjusted rear drum brakes. So used the Case and trailer to transport tires from one place to the other. And while in the mini barn, to get winter tires, got the battery out the the YT16H Ford grass cutting tractor. It’s having starting trouble. And not the battery’s fault. Not getting fuel. I guessing. Next springs work before grass cutting starts.

Thats todays adventures and a ramble. :D

Pictures don’t seem to be in order, but you’ll get the idea.

The 446 is looking good. Those are some mighty fancy rims for your ranger! When are you going to tell us about that old Dodge back there? :D

That old dodge Jeff, has been sitting for at least two years. It belongs to my sons buddy. It’s a 1990 Cummins diesel automatic 4x4. In fairly nice shape. Or was. Perfect running truck two or more years ago. Just look at the key and it was running. Never seen a engine start so fast.
Any way. Typical young fella figures, I’ll take the engine out and do some power hop ups to it, and put a 5 speed manual in it.

Well there it sits. Nothin done. Engine sits in the garage, in the way, transmission and related parts, sit in the garage in the way. Had all new brakes and tires before dismantle. Plus other work. There it sits. Birds use it for nesting in. I don’t know if it will ever run again. Sad really. Was a nice working, looking truck.

Any way, there you go Jeff. That’s the story on that old dodge.

Thanks for sharing Noel. Your right that certainly is a shame. I would have been thrilled with a good running truck as is, but as you say typical young fella. I apologize if a brought up a touchy subject, I didn’t intend too. Hopefully he gets it back together and moving again soon.
