222 attachments for a 444

For sure. But the 222 has no engine or travel control valve

If it's missing the hydraulic pipes and who knows what other small parts, they're harder and really expensive to source individually. I got two 4xx parts tractors which are incomplete in various ways, and a 244 that's complete, and rebuilding the engine for it now. Had big dreams about either making a good 4xx out of the two, or building an articulated machine out of the two, but that doesn't seem doable for some time. Getting the 244 in shape seems more doable.

Check the size of your snow caster. The last 444 I got for parts came with a snow caster and deck, both in terrible shape though. I already have a good caster for my 446.

So I checked out what he had today and most of the stuff was in pretty rough shape. And I really didn't feel I needed any of the parts off of the rusty stripped 222. I did purchase the dozer blade. It's 44 in across so it is the smaller model. But for pushing dirt around and such we'll see how well it works. I only paid $75 for it. It's rusty and could use a sandblast and repaint. And someone lost the bar on it and replaced it with a piece of chain. But the cutting edges in good shape and everything moves the way it should so I don't feel like I did too badly

For bulldozing dirt around I think you'll like the 44 better. Won't push as hard as the 54.

it works pretty well. I put a couple concrete blocks on top of the plate behind the blade and it held down decently as well. Last year I dug up my well lines to replace them and I never got a chance to back fill it in before the end of the year but then the ground froze. Now I just pushed back all of the dirt into the trench. What would have taken me 4 hours with a shovel in the sun I got done in 10 minutes

Hopefully I can plow snow with it this year as well. I don't have any tire change but my tires are filled with 10 gallons each. So hopefully that's enough.
If it doesn't cover the whole wheel width, I will figure something out. I have a rather short and wide driveway anyway and walk behind snowblower works very well

Installing that may have been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life though. Those inner pins did not want to go in all the way. I basically had to put the blade up against and not moving object in drive the tractor into it. Spent my tie rod a bit but I got it in. I had wire wheeled and greased everything. Hopefully next time will be easier
