After a day of the usual spring tinkering and maintenance my 1978 446 spent today mowing my lawn. That makes the 47th year for it to do that.
I don't think there is any tractor on the market today that would even come close to that lifespan.

Re: Raised bed gardening
You might consider an electric fence charger and some of the white tape electric fence from TSC.
My experience has been that the deer will touch the electric fence once and never come back. When you want to work on the beds just turn off the charger.

Re: How did you get interested in Case Tractors
One of the first jobs I had when I got out of high school (early 60's) was selling lawn & garden equipment for Sears so I was exposed to the Colt tractors as a competitor early on. My father and older brother had Case farm tractors so I also had experience with them. When we built our current ...

I know the feeling!! I was injured in 2019 and mostly recovered, but at my age things tend get worse with time so I am limited as to what I can do.

Re: Cottonwood is flying
We always have the "snow" in the spring also. This year doesn't seem to be as bad as we normally get. The only reason I can think of for that is the two late killing frosts we had this year.

My guess is that the fuel for that trip will be about $3500.

Re: GT junkyard videos
It tells me that I made a good choice when I bought my 446 new in 1978. That decision might have been caused by the new Case SC tractor my father bought in 1954.

Lots of wind here also. It shredded one of my neighbor's pine trees and scattered limbs all over my front yard. The temperature went from 66F at 2pm yesterday to below freezing at 6 pm. The temperature this morning was 22F with a forecast high near 30F.

Re: How many years you got with Case tractors?!
I bought my 1978 446 new in the spring of '78 so it has been mowing my acre of grass for 43 years.
