16 cords of this showed up at my sons place today. So I’ve got some thing to do.

I think I'd be renting a processor to knock that out...

Hehe. Got more wood. Neighbour down the road has stopped burning wood. So he said to take what you want. So last weekend my son and I got what was left in the house on my trailer. Today went down with my whittle truck and got a load from the pile outside. I get bits here and there and hopefully son and I can use trailer again to get some.

Little bit done today. A little over 1/2 cord inside. Have to go back to the neighbour down the road and get some more. When !!! The weather smartens up.

I had some woody works to do yesterday. Cleaned up some of the branches off the two ash trees I fell a while ago, and carried away about half on my back. So why do I have tractors anyways?!

Big trees Eugen. Tractors are for display and for our selfs to look at and remember the good old days when you could afford to use them.

Got some more firewood done yesterday. I went and got another load from my neighbour down the road. Some pieces are split, some not. Some of the ones that are split are to big for my liking so I split those again. And got it stacked. I might be half done with what I put inside for the winter. Lots more to get at the neighbours.

Bit more done yesterday. I’m kinda hurtin. Must be age, I guess. It’s not hard work. Load my little truck, drive about a minute to my place. Unload and stack. And resplit the ones I find bigger than I want. Electric spliter. And it’s only a little over 1/4 of a cord that I do each trip. Any way. Hurtin a bit.
Some of those rounds are just so so. I’ll decide what to do with them some day.

Well a little more done today. Each time get the load from my neighbour, it’s about 1/4 to 1/3 or so of a cord. So finished the row I was working on yesterday. Now I have to move the wood spliter and fill that wall. Floor to ceiling, from the stacked wood on the right, over to the air compressor and two rows deep. Hard to see the compressor, but it’s at the end of the table the wood splitter is on. Got some ready to stack there.
So to make this a Case tractor related ramble, I did have to move the Case 446 out of the garage to get the wood in.

Noel could you please post a pic of your electric splitter. A friend of mine who works on small engines has an electric splitter in his shop to make some kindling for his wood burner. He has it mounted on a cart with wheels some he can move it around his shop. Split it up and store it under the splitter on the cart. I'm thinking about making one for myself.

They are just the greatest thing Harry. We split all our wood with them. Hard wood and soft. Great for kindling.
This is my sons splitter. Same as mine. His has the optional four way splitter. I’ve never used that. But would be great for kindling. Not sure how it would work on a piece of 12” round hardwood.

Little bit more done today. That maybe the end of the wood from the neighbour, he wants to give some to his son. But the son was suppose to take it two years ago and didn’t get any. So the neighbour will ask his son again and will see what happens. So might get more yet, but makes no difference.

Well the rain stopped and got at the wood again. None from the neighbour's this time. Useing my own wood I have against the garage. Only a short distance to go, outside to inside on same wall. I could load up an arm load and do it that way, but using the loader is easier on my back and it might be faster. But burning the expensive fuel doing it.

Time to convert the little tractor to steam Noel!!! You have enough wood to make it run for a long time!

There. One more row to finish. Maybe today, maybe not. The FBH or the BFH, which ever way you want to call it, helps to get the pieces in at the top.
Wood gasifire tractor Eugen ? I think that’s what it called. There was a lot of wood gas vehicles in the Second World War. Tanks, tractors and stuff.

Noel , Impressive what that little Massey can lift with that much of a reach . I see it is a tip bucket , but can't make out what lift the boom .

That thing is ingenious for its simplicity!

A single small hydro cylinder driving that whole thing. Crazy. I love it.

Well Dave, it can only lift about 30 lbs. there is a winch at the front that pulls down on that arm behind the pivot point. If I had the pivot point out from the tractor more, it would lift more. So what you see in the bucket is I’m guessing 60 lbs of wood. So I just leave the bucket up and fill it. And the winch can hold it. When I made it, I tryed to make it look like a model 38 pipe loader you would see on a MF 135 tractor. And when I built it, it was many for parades and displays. But of course I had to start useing it.
It has been a wonderful attachment. I’ve used it a lot in the past ten years or so. You name it, it’s probably been in it. My portable wheelbarrow.

Bob, not a hydraulic cylinder, wish it was. It’s a 1500 winch from Canadian tire in there.
Have had a lot of comments on it over the years. I built a manure spreader to haul behind it at shows. Made out of wood. Beaters are ground driven. Just for shows. It doesn't throw. I would put fake manure, black earth, peat moss , and long grass in the spreader for looks. Then throw it at people I knew going along the parade route. Use to have a lot of fun with the stuff.

Hehe. In me head Dave.

But really, I just looked at a manure spread form a distance quite a few times as I drove by. Then one day drove in to get a close up look. And Jumpins it was a MF 110 manure spreader. Any way just got a good look at it. No phones then to take pictures.
And a toy manure MH spreader. Then I got at it. All painted by me. Even the decal part.

I might hook it to the Case 446 and put it in the Dundas Plow Match parade, like I did in 2019.

They are both really cool! Nicely done! All you need is an apron chain and manure forks for the bucket and you ready to clean out stalls!

So some negative today. The neighbour I was getting wood from, who told me to take it and just leave a 1/2 ton truck load there, which I agreed to, now I stirred things up I guess. The grandson wanted the wood because he payed for the wood to years ago. And the neighbour was after them, his son and grandson to come and get it. But they never did. Now that the wood is disappearing, there all excited. Neighbor said on Monday to not take any more until he found out for sure what they were gunna do. I said that’s fine. So I get a call from the son last nite, a friendly call, not take any more that his son is going to take it because he burns wood. I said fine, and said there is a pile still outside here if you want I can take it back or yous can come here and get it. He slowly said no, that’s alright you keep it. I said fine. I have offered to pay for the wood a few times but the neighbour won’t give me a price. So I asked the son while I was on the phone with him, how much do you want, your father won’t give me a price. No, I’m not getting into that he said. So it was left like that. I’d say the father, son and grandson are having sort of a family dispute over the situation.

Any way, bottom line is, I shoulda stayed away.

Well now I guess I am going to have to get a toy spreader and water it and see if I can get it to grow into something larger .

Oh man, it's not a nice feeling, is it?! But don't feel bad, a guy needs to stick to his word. It's not your fault in any way.

So was at this yesterday and today. Great spot to work in the lean too and have the doors open at each end, while it’s raining out. Son doesn’t want all hardwood in for the garage any more. He only burnt about a 1/4 of the pile there in the last two years. So I sorted the hardwood that was there into two piles. One 18” and shorter, that will go to the house for this winter. Any thing longer into the pile that will stay to burn in the garage. So I’m cutting up old boards and junk, with my dads home made table saw, and I’m out in the rain cutting up free softwood we got a few years ago and I’m making up sort of a Dagwood sandwich of wood. Hardwood layer, cut up board layer and soft wood layer, then keep going with that until space is full. I may run out of long pieces of hardwood before the end, but that’s ok. And I have my homemade pickaroons with me for help. Why I never made those many years ago is beyond me. They are a great tool for firewood. And other jobs too!
So almost half done of the storage spot.

Well that was it for today. I’ll go back tomorrow. Not suppose to be raining, so I’ll be able to cut some softwood. That’s the next layer to put on. Already got wet getting softwood today so that’s enough of that. Got all the old wood sticks and stuff in the trailer cut up. Another load of that stuff outside yet.
