Yes, my other tractor is a forklift. It may be able to function as a ladder but it can't leave the concrete pad most of the year. Driving it onto the gravel drive will only lead to frustration.

When it comes time to move summer tires from storage to the garage, the real tractor steps up and goes where no forklift has gone before.

Oh, yeah! I fully appreciate that steel roof you're installing, and sure the forklift was superhandy! Wish I had one last summer when I re-did our roof! :D

I miss my forklifts...

I had a '65 AC with a triple mast that got to like 22'. Always ran without complaint for the 13 years I had it, and sold if along when I had to close my shop. Had just put new ties on it, so it should be good for another 50 years...
The other was an early 80's Mitsubishi... Good lift, but very cramped compared to the AC, and not quite as much mast. Still nice and tight on everything, just wasn't quite as bulletproof as the AC.

And, yea, keep 'em on the concrete... I used to run the AC outside at my first place because we were split between 3 units. Middle of winter was ok if it was dry, and frozen, and then summer if it was dry was also ok. Spring, and fall, we had to really plan when we needed to moves heavy objects between buildings...
