Does anyone know what can be used as brake band material on my '77 446? I know it's available online from various vendors but I was wondering if anyone knew of an over the counter alternative that I might be able to pick up at an auto parts or farm store? Thanks!

Not that I know of. McMaster Carr would be fastest way to get material. May have dealer local to you.

@Vivala446 I picked up a piece of conveyor flat belt at a local industrial hose and belting supplier and glued it in place. It works like a champ.

I cut up an old car disk brake pad into the size I wanted and glued them in. So far so good.

You can buy new ready to install kits from the dealers or some older farm equipment parts suppliers may have some in stock . Buying lining from suppliers usually means buying way more than you need and trying to piece it out to others , and then buying the glue .
