Addition to shop

I've been looking for a good belt sander for a while. Just before Christmas an old school Craftsman 6"x48" sander was available on C/L locally at a good price. It will be nice to use instead of a angle grinder for fabrication projects.

Oh sweet , nice score . I would love to have one myself . But I should get the hoist up first .

Nice score Harry. Id really like to have one too.. I can't wait to get my big shop built. Since covid came and skyrocketed prices I've held off building and held off buying big shop tools like your new to you sander. My attatched garage has one work space and the shed is full of stuff. No room for nothing.

Many years ago I work at a Machining company that made machines for engine rebuilding . They made amougst other things a belt sanding table for flattening heads . The belt was 24" wide , liquid cooled cast iron bed rollers were 10" in diameter and were about 48" centre on centre . would dress a V8 iron head to .0005 of flat in minutes .

Looking at this to add to the collection of saws . Apparently it is a new design .
Might be handy one day .

@DavidBarkey That blade must have be a boxstore special of the month. Life time guaranty - It will never lose the factory edge.

I have to admit that is one tool I do not have in my shop. Maybe HF has one on sale?
