Chad's intro

Hi everyone,

I'm Chad Benning from southern Ontario (Smithville). I've had a lifelong connection with Case garden tractors, beginning with a 155 that my dad purchased when I was a year old. It had a custom made loader that was a lot of fun to use growing up. I broke the odd front wheel spindle when overloading it (thankfully dad was a machinist and it was able to be repaired a few times - obviously a 6xx machine is the way to go!!) We did a basic restoration when I was a little older (rebuilt engine, new coat of paint) but nothing as nice as some members here have done.

Fast forward 25 years and I purchased my own Case GT - a 1981 444. It came with a deck and blade that had a mangled mounting bracket (worked but not great). Have since picked up another blade (with correct bracket) and a dump cart. Everytime I'm on it I have a huge grin!! These machines are amazing; I'm constantly impressed with what they can do. I've been doing the odd repair (brakes, front pivot pin last summer) and am excited for my kids to experience using it (and hopefully collect a few others!) as they grow up.

Here are a few photos. Thanks for the invite - glad to be here!

Welcome Chad and thanks for introducing yourself. I liked your story and look forward to hearing more from you down the road. A 444 is probably one of the nicest machines around. I have one that needs some work, maybe next winter.

Keep the Peace
Harry

Thanks everyone! Nice to see a few familiar names :)

Yes Harry - love the sound and grunt that these k series Kohler's have. And especially how great they are on fuel.

Hi Chad,
Glad to have you here. I'm with you about the grin 😁. I'm in my happy place when I'm on my Ingy.
Hope you can pass the tradition down too.
Tim

Hello Chad,

Glad that you have joined, it will take a good number of new members for this forum to grow. There are already some veteran Case/Ingersoll owners here who can help with any questions that you may have.

Welcome!

Bob
