Mocking up new fenders and newer style foot rests . Being a old short wheel based unit it is going to be a little tight getting in and out . Fortunately Jacob and I are not big people . It will make for a larger more comfortable cab though . This machine will have two jobs , Blowing snow and pushing a blade . More pic.s to follow .

It is hard to tell in the picture, will there be enough room for chains at the front and rear of the fender? In the Army (82) I got some time in as a body man repairing fenders on Jeeps when the drives put chains on and left them loose and flopping around

Good eye Gordy . Ya that is part of the fitting . I have to open them up a little , cut some off the back and weld on the front . Hope to get that part done today .

Here is a pic of the fenders I made for my 646. Just posting to generate some ideas. The metal was cut out from an old 250 gallon oil tank.

Jake and I spent a few hours in the shop cleaning up and finding home for "Stuff " I have saved that has been given to me the last while . Did not get anywhere with the fenders , But do have some room to move now

. He has an old Jacobson mower that was given to for parts . It is not worth fixing , deck is rotten and the 18 hp BS is toast. It is a very low profile rig with hydro-static drive . He wants to build it into a go cart for the farm ,it says Jacob son on it so must be for him

. Got a lot of that striped down today as well so the scrap can go back to the pile . He want to paint it like a crocodile and has already drawn pictures of how he wants to paint it .

Thats his winter project , gives him something other than video games this winter .

Managed to get a little more done today. Fenders welded to backs still have to re-enforce the fronts and fill in the backs at both ends .
moved the new style foot rest ahead an inch to line up with fenders
moved the fuel tank back behind the axle so it can be filled from out side the cab
Moving the battery to where the fuel tank was , easier access when the cab is on

When I fabricated brackets to mount a cab on my 446, I made it hinge backwards so I could fill the gas tank easier. Later after all the work I found that I didn't need it to hinge away to fill with gas, especially with the turbo gas filler. The canvas around the front of the cab is flexible enough I can lift the hood no problem and still have access to the battery. I'll take some pics and post them so you can see what I'm talking about.
The fenders look terrific!

David, hood and cab pics of the 446. This tractor is the one I use for removing snow with the caster. Cab was purchased from someone who had it in his front yard at a great price. He had no idea what kind of tractor it was on and no makings on the cab. PO made 1/2" plywood doors with plexiglass windows. Glass in the windshield and plexiglass in the rear. manual windshield wiper in the front windshield. It usually takes me less than an hour to clean two driveways so no heater needed. Most of the time I hear sweat pants and a hoodie to use tractor in winter. Cab is great for keeping the wind of the driver.

Harry,
How is your cab supported when tipped back? Mine came with a kickstand.

I attached two cables one on each side to support the cab when tilted back. When I get out in my shop, I'll take a pic.

The cab has a door on the left side. Need to flip the cab back to open the hood and flip the seat pan up for access to the PTO / belt clutch and whatnot under the pan.

Sorry for the delay on the pics. I attached a cable on both sides of the cab to the bracket I fabricated to hold the cab when tilted back.

Very Nice job on the fenders!
One of the hardest things to do with some of the Cases is to get on and off.
