Colt Case Ingersoll Garden Tractors

Brake band , from old style to new style . Problem , I have 3 old style bands and hardware with no lining on them . Don't have the time or the money right now to order new linings . But I have a new style with about 60% material left on it and all the hardware from converting Frankie to disk brakes ,Plus i think the newer design is better . I am working on a 446 short frame to be a dedicated front mount snow blower . How to make the new work on the old without re-engineering the whole thing . After looking at the 2 systems closely the old mount just needed to be sleeved . So , 1/2" rod from scrap bucket . Drilled 13/32" 1/4" deep then 5/16" 1" deep tap to bottom part off at 1 1/8" long for the top one and 1 1/2" long for the bottom one . Cross drill 3/16" from end 3/32" hole for cotter pin , back up with washer to reduce wandering . Like me you may have to "adjust" ( with a socket and hammer ) the top pin assembly to get the brake band to sit in the centre of the drum. old style off other tractor old style
