I'm not sure there is any benefit to using an engine larger than 18-20HP unless you have increased the hydraulic pressure and or flow rate. Am I missing something here? Anyone know how much hydraulic HP the loaders have?

As most our tractors have the original pump and hydraulic motor, imho one would gain much more draw bar hp or wheel turning hp replacing them with new ones, rather than a new engine. It's just an opinion though.

This tractor sure has some personality but the price seems to be bit much for what your getting, imho!

I agree, Matt it sounds like the one lung Kohler's handle these tractors just fine. Sounds like tillers like a little more.
Adding HP to the standard hydraulic pump doesn't gain much. Adding HP to a belt drive will show the increase.

Upping the pump size will overrun the hydraulic motors.
Upping the pressure is going to overload the entire tractor and things are going to break.
I think the loader tractors were pretty well designed, and don't need much improvement.
Just my opinion.
