Today I installed the heavy JD combine weights on the winter GT. Checked it over changed oil and filter. Looks to be ready, I’ll park it with the battery tender on and one job done.

Harry , how do you find grip in the winter with the lugs . I found the old turfs with 2 link chains do better here than the lugs. The studs did help the lugs , but chains still better . I want at some point to put on a set of real auto motive snow with studs . I think that would be the best traction I could get on a mixed surface .

I have chains on the 444 with a plow for snow. I found that as you mentioned the chains are better but if I do spin them on the asphalt then it marks it up. I was hoping on tge 446 with blower by upping the lug tires weights from 80 lbs per wheel to 160 lbs per wheel it would help. Working on getting tge 444 set up for winter currently. I’ll post pucs when done.

How much air are you running in your rears . I run mine at 8 psi . The lower psi lets them squat a bit and get more gription .

I’m thinking 10 psi, but I need to check them before winter.
