Picked up a set of combine weights for my 446 winter GT. These are 162 pounds each that will replace the 75 pound on it now. I noticed this past winter the tires spinning and didn’t want to put chains on. Hopefully this may help.

Nice Harry. It those are heavy. Don’t wanna get fingers caught under them while putting them on.

Here is my method for installing those 162 pounders:
I have a chain with an 90 degree iron hook at the end, and a come-a-long in the door, or cherry picker.

Others have modified floor jacks: https://www.casecoltingersoll.com/posts/752321/ and that can work as well.

When I installed a set on the 646 I tried the floor jack method without success. The jack kept tipping over so I used a strap around the weight and two spud wrenches to locate it. Then a piece of 1/2” threaded rod to draw the weight into the wheel. Had no problems and felt safer, didn’t want it falling on my foot. I might try the method that sdunt mentioned. Looks like it is safe and not as complicated.

@Harry I did something similar last summer when I was mounting wheel weights on my 644. I welded up a 'C' shaped bracket from 1" square tube that was laying around...
Hung it from a small Princess Auto / Harbor freight engine leveller so I could adjust the angle of the dangle and get it sitting perfectly square Made the install easy peasy...

Last fall in November I wanted to go to a plow day in NE Indiana. About 40 minutes south of me. I had joined the club earlier in the summer. I had acquired a set of JD Combine weights when I bought my 4118 about 7 years ago. I tried lifting them as a whole piece and that was not working. It was a split weight about 140# total. So I split it and was still fighting it. Contacted my neighbor (a young man) and he came over and we fought it a short time. He said " let me try something" . He lifted the half up and placed it inside the wheel into position and we sort of bolted it into place (bottom half of the wheel). We then placed the other half on top of the original and bolted it fast, then adjusted them to where they needed to be and torqued them down.

Put the tire chains on and had a great day! I also had about 120# on the front end to hold it down. Made adjusting the plow a lot easier when the front end stayed on the ground!

The man I purchased the combine wheel weights from, also has these two piece wheel weights for sale.

That is the same weight as mine except that mine are painted Black.

Yup, they are the JD H78062 combine weights @ 52 pounds per half = 104 pounds per wheel.
