Colt Case Ingersoll Garden Tractors

Picked up this Walker commercial mower this morning from a dealer. It was a trade in that they went through. New tires all around new hydro motor and fan for grass vacuum and new blades. Unit is ready to start cutting grass.

These are great units, we were a dealer years ago until our distributor started a "But Wholesale" ad campaign in our sales area essential making the units we had unsaleable.

That's a later model than any we had, although not much changed except the engine offerings.

What engine does that one have, Harry?

Kohler Command Pro ECH740, 2cyl EFI 25 hp at 3600rpm

My neighbour has a few of them for his landscaping buisness , loves them . Sturdy machines , many love them . Me , I find them confusing to drive , but I have difficuties with all stick controls .

Should be plenty of power for that 42" deck, when we sold that same machine you could order a 12hp Briggs with the chain final drives or a 16hp Kohler Magnum single with the wheel motors.

I always found the drive controls to be one of the easiest as compared to the two lever systems where you can't even let go of one to scratch your nose. Boy do my arms get tired holding those levers in place.

With the Walker controls, you have one lever to push ahead and set the ground speed which doesn't need to be held. To steer, you just use one finger to move one of the steering levers back against the spring tension and when you let go the machine returns to straight forward at the previous speed.

No need to use both hands to operate, leaves at least one free to answer the phone, pick your nose or enjoy a few.

This one has a 48” deck and like you mentioned Bob easy to drive. The dealer gave me the drive by training and I played with it in their parking lot. The backed ip unto my trailer and brought it home. It will take me a few times to master driving it though. I liked the easy to drive and bagger unit. It should cut my mowing time in half compared to my CC.

The real reason that Harry bought a Zero Turn

You will love the ease of dumping the clippings over baggers .
