When I worked for the local JD dealer doing small engines I got to experience those on some customer tractors . They work about as well as lugs with no chains . If the snow is hard enough to get a bite they are fine ,but if there is hard packed or ice they are useless . They do now mar the pavement , but are not much better than turfs alone . Unless you have a fancy driveway you don't want to mark up , don't waste your money on those .

A buddy bought one of those stand up skid steers to do his driveway. His driveway slopes to the street. He rode the skid steer to the street sideways as it went out of control on the ice.

I have no experience with these, but wonder if the wire cable style Tire "Chains" would work better than the rubber straps? KAL Tire https://www.kaltire.com/en/tire-chains/and Cdn Tire https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/cat/auto ... 00425.html both show this style - of wire cables with steel rollers on them there was also this style - the diagonal pattern might grip a bit better when going down a hill sideways

I was surprised by some of Amazon's more conventional tire chain offerings that looked like they really belonged on a 'MadMax' vehicle... (just in case any of you were upgrading your tractor tires to alloy rims)

I have seen ones that were just strips of beefed-up rubber that may work. But you are missing some things. You need as much weight as you can get; the owner's manual says 500 lbs is the minimum for the loader. Your tractor has the exact same drive system. The second thing you need is brand new tires. 30-40 year old rubber is hard and is useless for traction. You can get new tires. You can have your tires sipped. Sipped tires are about the same as the winter radial tires they make now.

I use just my ag lug tires on my Caster tractor, which is a 4020. If it is shiny ice, they are useless. If it is snow, they work well. The tires are filled, and I have steel combine inner weights mounted to the rim. My 648 has 29-12.50x15 turf tires and way big equipment chains on it. Those tires are filled and will have the outer combine weights. For either tractor, I have a weight box and up to 750 lbs of weight if I need it.

I have these on my 444, and just finished plowing the driveway with them. They do offer some grip, but like Dave says there isn't much of an advantage with ice covered asphalt. I am using wheel weights as well.
