Case 446 with loader helps get things ready for winter. Down spout extensions put on and stick markers for snow removal. Loader bucket get thing to stand in to pound in taller stick.

The bucket handles what the snow plow leaves behind easier than the blowers do. In Case you need an excuse to use it this winter .

Seasonal changeover has been ongoing... My decking project in on hiatus for the year now, so all the supplies are tucked under the house. I managed to get a generator inlet panel installed on my uncles garage so I can power a 5000w heater over the winter from my generator while working on projects in a wind proof building. After that, I got the Diamond T running again (that thing has been kicking my ass all summer) so I could get the leaf vac out from behind it. That's now hooked on to the 444 (had to get some Case content in there somewhere).

The snowblower doesn't go on until after the leaves are done. I'll likely chain up the 8N with the back blade some time in November for the season. Other than that, I've got wood to cut, split and stack, but that's really prep for next winter, so I don't know if that counts the same...

Thinking about getting edge tamers for the bucket Dave. I don’t want the bucket right on the surface. Or just some sort of runner like a snowthrower. Don’t wanna dig up surface and don’t wanna wear the bucket.

What are your thoughts on that. ??

I had never heard of them before . Had to look them up . Great Idea , I think I will get a set myself .

I did get a set of those bucket shoes for Frankie . And finally got around to putting on the caster to the 446 blower tractor . So now it will do nothing but rain for the next month , and i am ok with that .

So I put a runner on the loader bucket so it maybe won’t pick up rocks and debris off the driveway, if I use the loader for snow.
So I just used some 1.5” abs plastic pipe and two bungee cords.
Cut the pipe to the length I needed, cut a slot from one end to the other, hammered it on to the bucket and hooked a bungee cord at each end of the pipe so it won’t come off, when backing up or dumping. It seems to be on fairly tight, but the bungees will keep the abs pipe on.
Also clear coated it to help keep snow from sticking.
So will see how it works and if it’s good, I may change to sch 80 CPVC pipe which is harder and thicker.

I wish that pipe would work on gravel.But I have an excuse for avoiding shoveling this winter, 3 of them. 2 carple tunnel corrections followed by trigger finger correction so 3 months of reasonns for avoiding shoveling snow. In spite of having a hand tied behind my back, the rototiller was removed and snow blower put on the 448. Prediction is for a foot of snow in the next 24 hours. I'll believe it when I see it but at least I'm ready.
