It is a bit tempting. A huge plus on this on is that engine tins are all in place. It is rare to find the oil filter air seal in place one this old. Also the air flow deflectors at the rear of the engine have not been lost. They are often taken off for operator comfort during the winter, warm legs in the winter, toasted in the summer. The left side valve cover shield is usually missing leading to valve issues.
Price is not to bad for this area but my first had 3 point and pto for a $1500. It was missing engine tins and had a broken crank At the time I still had a lot to learn about Onans. A one cylinder Onan will handle a tiller but not a mower deck. That was when the bore with no piston couldn't hide anymore.
It was a rude awakening.
